We've seen that 'pimply' skin texture on pumpkins fairly frequently.
It's interesting,isn't it?

A very nice example of textures in nature. I like how you have captured this from the top to help us more fully see the shape. I have seen these pumpkins and they are unusually warty! Nicely focused with warm rich tones. Best wishes for the contest!
