Interesting info and good capture of the guy cooking with his Pizza shirt on and the pans below his elbow. The fire is colorful and your capture not too busy as so many food photos are. Best wishes to People at Work.

A beautiful stop action picture of the Pizza maker either placing a Pizza in the Pizza Oven or about to remove a cooked Pizza the fire in the oven glowing red & gold. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

I don't know who marked you down, but I don't think you deserved it! I see a nice clear image with excellent lighting. I think it's pretty cool to see this guy making pizza. I'm thinking the pole he's holding is the long one you need to put the pizza in and out of the oven. Very Cool to see this pizza maker in action. Nice entry for the "people at work" Contest! I see a very clear photo, so I am compelled to give it stars. However, this has been presented as a photo journalistic photo. In that case, to my knowledge, the photo would tell a story. This photo is a clear photo, the colors are crisp as well. However, if I were just viewing this photo to gain some story from it, I would be lost. Yes, the man in the photo has a shirt with a pizza name on it, but so do I. Anyone could have a Tshirt from their favorite pizza shop. I'm not saying that what the photographer submitted here is not true; I am simply stating that what the photographer has described as being in this photo, is not. There is no evidence in this photo of a man, "cooking and selling pizza from his van." That would definitely be something to see; I agree. We just do not see it here. We also do not see a man cooking pizza at all, in my expert experience. Pizzas bake flatly. No where in this photo do I see a pizza baking flatly on a rake in a pizza oven. Never in my life have I seen anyone prodding a pizza with a long stick.i am more confused after reading the photographer's notes. Photo journalism tells a story in photos and with photos. This clear photo could tell a story of some kind. I see a man prodding into a stone arched area, with a long metal stick. He is wearing a shirt with the word pizza on it. Has he just come from a pizza shop and bought a souvenir shirt? I don't know. A viewer of a journalism piece should not be left with so many unanswered questions. If the caption had been that a man was captured on film, as he was struggling to fend off a fire breathing dragon, I would honestly believe that story over the story that a man with no long, insulated oven gloves, was prodding and poking a pizza which would make the dough fall and is never done. So I believe the photographer here saw something that's depicted in this photo but it is most definitely not a man baking a pizza. This is not photo journalism, this is photo sensationalism, in my opinion. And I'm the nicest person in the world, set out to give 5 stars, as I usually do. I just do not see what is described here, and furthermore, what I do see, would not support the story in any way.

What planet are you on unless you wanted me to climb in the van and get a closer look,this is a man cooking a pizza to sell to the public so is therefore a journilistic photo i find your notes bizarre to say the least .
p.s. you by your comments have a grudge against me because of comments have made on your badly out of focus old phone photos that i said should not have neen put into a comp,but as you were starting out on here just put them on here,and low and behold after my advice you done it again with an out of focus sunset photo [and i use that term with tongue in cheek]you clearly havee no knowledge of photograrhy.

If you go to New York there you will discover pizza making is like a art form. I remember this pizzaria had this big glass window where people on the street can watch them cook. When the cook is slinging and twirling the dough in the air he is dancing as well. The guy was such a pro folks were wowing out on the street. Check it out if you go there. Cool capture. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of this cook working the oven is great. The presentation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.
