This is a beautiful example of high key against the sun drenched sea and sky. The man out in the sea is in shadow as expected but his features are distinct. Very nicely done . Good luck in the high key contest. Ray

Excellent entry for this contest. You have nailed it. I love how every detail of the silhouette is tack sharp with the contrast of the whites and blowout. It is perfectly presented and framed. Love it.

I like the composition of this image a lot! I don't really understand what is meant by high key, so I may be wrong to suggest that the water is burnt out on those two areas?? Maybe that's what high key means? I really don't know, so I'll review it like any other photo:
I love the colour, or rather the lack of it and that the boatman is completely in silhouette.
Focus is spot on, he's as sharp as a knife.
And I love the composition, perfect use of the rule of thirds, and how the sea blends into the sky.

We fight this type of photo everyday. Except when they make a High Key photo contest. You managed the light well and kept the focal point off to the side to show off the paddleboarder. The vertical presentation is spot on and the tan tones provide a great contrast color to show of the human. Nice job.
