i wouldnt want to do that. interesting capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this chopper and worker on the electrical tower is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Many thanks!

Well it certainly qualifies for my contest and although this is people at work think it might have worked better had you got this helicopter/man a bit more closer in this [of course not really near as it looks like dangerous work] ...Brian

Someone else mentioned that, too; I do have a couple of closeups and was trying to decide which would be best, thought including most of the tower would give it perspective, but on hindsight, I probably should have gone with the close-up-lol! Guess if a similar contest comes up i can use it there!

your welcome

This is a nice photograph of people at work, especially the person so close to the top machine and laying cable. The sky is nice enough as are the towers and other surfaces. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you!

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a good view of that chopper possibly getting into trouble up there. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

This is such an unusual and interesting image, I hadn't a clue how fibre optic cables were laid!
But I do feel that the helicopter is rather small within the photo, it is the main subject and perhaps a tight crop around it to include that top corner of the transmission tower and part of the cable might have worked better? Your photo is very well focused, so I think it could take it - I tried it on my IPad and it looked great! Just an idea.
Other than that, the focus is excellent, with good dof and your exposure is spot on giving great natural colours throughout.
Good luck in the competition.

Thanks for your review and suggestion; I do have a couple of close up shots of the helicopter and debated which image to use.I thought this one would better showed the precarious job this guy has, along with the comparison between the tower and the helicopter and give the viewer a good visual image of just how far off the ground he is. Course sometimes, after you look at several images of the same thing you just pick one-lol! thanks for your well wishes, too!

You?re very welcome. And I know exactly what you mean, I always earmark 3 or 4 photos for a contest, then can never decide which to use! Someone gives a six and it?s whew I chose the right one, or a four and it?s oh damn I chose the wrong one! Lol

It appears to be a dangerous way to lay cables. Interesting shot. Good observation. The light and shadows, the colours and the composition have worked well. Good effort!
