I genuinely thought this was a sculpture until I read the media! Pencil?? Wow! This is so pretty! How were you able to get pencils this blended yet textured?

Thank you so much for your fine review, and I do mean fine and kind review. You are coming along nicely on the site; keep it up. I did this years ago, drew it in my sketchbook, lay the lead sideways and went over it; then, I drew the marks as much as possible like the sculpturer did. I don't believe this one has been fixed (sprayed with fixative).

Very good copying of a sculpture Glena I had never heard of him (the sculptor of course) and had to look him up . you did well with this one. His work seems very contemporary.

Thank you, dear friend, for your review and continued support. Yes, it seems he did more of the older or earlier ones, like this one I copied, that I like better too.

This looks amazing. I love how it looks like it is three dimensional. The way you have used the shading is great. And it looks so silvery. Hi did you achieve that?

Thanks for your review. You write such wonderful things but then you count of a whole number. I hope you will reconsider the rating. Why the whole number off? Thanks.

the depth and line work in this are stunning. the piece has so much importance behind it. the eyes stick out and give the artwork an all knowing feel that cloaks the entire work in an air of mystery and knowledge. This is phenomenal

What a wonderful drawing! I am so pleased to see so much dedication to a persons faith on this site! Even contests for faith art. Love it. This is a simple sketch yet so impactful. It's a wonderful rendition to a figure that plays such a role in my life and my family. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing, my artist friend, and to learn about our likeness in faith in Christ and the role it plays in your life and family as it likewise does in mine. Also, thanks for your tremendous insight and encouraging support. I appreciate you and your work too.

My Jesus, So beautiful. I love this simple rendition of The Son of God. His downcast eyes, as if in prayer. His somber expression, longing for His children. Thank you for this wonderful entry

A talented pencil drawing of Christ with eyes closed, perhaps in prayer. The addition of the black background works very well to highlight the detail.

Thank you much, Christine, for your review and fine input. I don't believe I have had a review from you before. Regardless, thank you again and good to have you on FAR. I haven't been around as much lately due to going to Wake Forest Spine Institute, and other, as well as slowly getting back to my son's and my novel, hopefully mine.

Hi Glena, no I am indeed newly signed up to FAR, although I was previously a member for a number of years, it?s been about 7-8 years since I last posted anything. Some of the originals are still here and it?s lovely to reconnect with them and to meet new artists. My circumstances are such that I am now at home full time caring for my husband who has dementia and various health problems and decided to do a refresher course and re immerse myself in my hobby!

its a nice sketch. the facial is good. the shading is good. the depth is good. the details is good. the black background does enhance the drawing. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. creative approach and good job overall.

This is an excellent drawing of the sculpture of Christs head viewed from the side offering a view of his side profile.
This is so well rendered with great attention to the details and texture of this piece. The sculpture stands out so profoundly from the dark background.
Very well drawn, beautifully presented!
