Comment from Daphne Oberon

An authentic masterpiece depicting a world renown moment that I even saw depicted on Catholic calendars hanging on the walls of remote residences in 1950's and 1960's Baja, Sur, Mexico. If you were ever to redo this, the only changes I would make would be to push the horse up higher in the picture so his head could be longer, pull St. Martin's upper arm closer to his body so his forearm didn't look disproportionately long... The attitudes and expressions though, are perfect! And this is what is most important! My admiration!!!

I absolutely no clue about the story behind the drawing. I'm sorry about it. Yes. The drawing does convey a story and you have done in a simple and effective style. Good luck in the contest!

I like this as an illustration fine and there is quite a bit of human form; best wishes in the contest. I like your commentary also. It is touching. Daphne Oberon was on here, correct. I miss her. Please give her my love. I have her email; I am almost certain.

Hi Brenda!
Being a serious non-christian I'm not a fan of these 'saintly' images and drawings based on abrahamistic religious myths but you've been my friend and you've supported my work here on FAR for a long time and-since I Deeply appreciate that and since I honestly admire your Artistic talent- I wanna' offer you MY support by letting you know that I'm enjoying this pencil creation very much!
'Blessed Be',my friend!

Such a beautiful artwork. Excellent drawing techniques. This is like a masterpiece. Every detail had been drawn so carefully hence, it so full of life. You have surely illustrated the legend so well. A pretty touching story in the artist notes.
