This is quite a creative approach to this contest, and I suppose you were inspired by Halloween. I very much like the color pallet you have used, and also the boldness of the brush work. I also think you have used high lights really well.
Everything is done paying a very good attention to details, but perhaps the flame on the candle could have been better defined.
The format and framing is perfect, and all the different items are well placed on the canvas. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition.
I think this is an all together great looking and well done painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.
