Autumn Branch and leaves with hard frost

Right or wrong back when I was kid my daddy called this effect 'rhyme ice', Pat. The visual was the same. Cold nights, just enough wind and some damp air usually did it back in Newport. And it was always a cold walk to school. So cold that your tears froze on your cheeks

This piece is so smooth. No clutter, no distractions only the branch and its adornment contrasted against a "blue bird sky".

You like the Abenaki proper nouns and I like a well turned phrase.

A very cool pic... Bob

Welcome back! I have missed you! Your frost coated branch really does stand out against that clear blue sky! It looks like it may have been sparkling in the sun. I appreciate that you notice the unusual and capture that. Nothing random in your work. Happy Thanksgiving!

I like the simplicity of this image. The clear and cloudless sky made a nice background. You have placed this frosted branch well in this blue frame. A refreshing scene.

Frost-kissed leaves shimmer in the winter sunā?"nature's frozen artwork. You have captured the essence of winter in this simple and effective shot of the autumn leaves in frost. Well done!

Pat,
A wonderful picture of that branch with Autumn leaves still hanging on encrusted with Haw-frost sparkling in the sunshine against the beautiful clear blue sky. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & razor sharp focus.

You have such good eye for interesting and striking nature photography.
The details on the leave are showing so well against the solid blue background.
Excellent and thank you for sharing Pat!

Great perspective against the blue sky. I dropped half a star because the frost in parts looks soft - particularly in the upper part of the image. Perhaps there was movement or the f stop was too shallow? I was taught the best way to capture detail in ice or snow is to slightly underexpose the image then bring back the 'shadows' in an editing program.
