This is very cleverly done. The artwork in the dogs is beautiful and realistic in an arty way. The colours are great. The arrangement is superb. You have creativity and much skill.

Lisa, Very cool piece here. I like the way you exaggerated the heads and foreshortened the bodies. You did this with a wood burning technique. Kudos to you. Wonderful piece that your daughter will always have. Ray

Thanks Ray, I did use a photo for reference and they have giant heads even at a normal angle...LOL!!! This was a labor of love and my finger is still calloused from the burning tool, but worth it.
    Thanks again!

This is a beautiful wood-burning project. Sorry I don't have any "6s" as I know this had to take hours to do. And, you actually made the dogs quite realistic. They are adorable in their attire.

Thanks for your review Glena, this was a labor of love ❤️ It did take several days of burning since the tool would get very hot after a while. The painting part was several hours since the wood kept soaking up the paint. I had to reapply a few coats so it would show up. Then sealer after it was dry. The sealer took about 10 coats on both sides to achieve and actual gloss, again the wood was like a sponge. I think next time I'll use UV acrylic that cures with a light. It might work better and not be absorbed so easily. All in all, I was happy with the result but it was definitely more work than I anticipated and it almost wasn't ready on time. I had to wrap it with parchment paper because it was still a little tacky, before gift wrapping it.

Welcome. Your procedure details much work and indeed a labor of love, and might I say, artist friend, an outstanding piece.

I have never seen a tribute before, and this is totally amazing. Your composition, shades, tones and colors defined these dogs well. Thank you so much for sharing.

This looks like it was definitely a great Christmas present which will last for many years, I wonder if she was really excited to get it. It looks like it took some time to do this and did you copy it from a photo or did you do it from memory, what ever you did it really looks great and I wish you the best in the contest. JackJr.

Hi Jack, it did reference a photo and it took about 16 hours total to complete the detail as the wood burning tool would get very hot and I would have to shut it off for a while in between sessions. I changed it a little because they were originally sitting on an Oriental rug which was very busy. My daughter loved it and said she she's not gonna use at as a trivet because she doesn't want it to get ruined...lol! Thank you for your kind words and review.
