While a great situational shot, its unfortunate that it is somewhat of focus. Its amazing that you caught this eagle with his fish prey, a great shot.

Hi Selke.. Well, this dramatic shot certainly meets the main criteria of this contest.

Looking at this image from a normal viewing distance to the monitor shows a well exposed image. But on closer inspection the edge sharpness is soft and much of the tail feather detail is blurred.

The outline of the Eagles head is soft as well. I don't know if this is due to the poor JPG resolution or too slow of a shutter speed.

Overall this is a fine shot and should do very well in the contest good luck... Bob

    Thanks for your review.
    Appreciate that!
Eagle was turning using tail and the wings sped up quickly to avoid splashdown. Think that factored in as well?

Absolutely, that's what makes these kinds of shots so tricky. For full flight birds 1/3200s preferably 1/5000s. In this light ISO 1000 and Exposure Bias +.5 > +1. Also keep cropping to a minimum because FAR imports with low resolution JPG which will further reduce edge sharpness. Just a few thoughts from shared experience... Bob

Going to give five even though its not completely sharp, because you caught that moment in time and guess you had to be quick to get this, don,t no what camera you have,on mine i can shoot five frames at a go at that would have been ideal in this instance,if this had been sharp would have been a winner.....Brian

This is a very lovely visual presented here of this eagle, carrying his food off somewhere to enjoy his meal. Your composition, shades tones, colours and textures of this piece are well done. Thank you for sharing.
