It is indeed a beautiful Iris you have pictured here, and I like that we can see hints of blue in the dark background. I also like how well the flower is standing out from it.
The Iris is done paying such a good attention to even the small details, and you have used the high lights well.
The format and framing is perfect, and I also like the placement of the flower within the frame. A truly lovely and well done digital creation Allan, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thanks Annie, I have to credit soulfeeder for her comments. She thought the upper part of the iris was too close to the top. I changed that and it did make a better presentation, better balance. Thanks for the high rating, a little confidence boost that I can always use!

This is so lovely and well captured. I also love the dark and solid background that you've used because it really made your bluish iris to stand out. Clarity of veins and yellow patches. Light is also well managed. The point for improvement is to add a bit of negative space from the top side to balance your placement. There's plenty of negative space from the bottom but at the top the petals didn't have any space to breath at all. The choice of orientation fits well. Overall, this is a lovely technical artwork, but framing placement just needs to be improved.

Thank you for your comments on the painting. I took your advice and gave the flower more room on the top, it was crowded as you say. I think it looks much better now. I like feedback that helps me make a better presentation. Thanks!
