Congratulations on your first place win! This is an excellent piece of artwork done in Pastel pencils. Honestly, I an still learning all the genres and had never heard of them! Now I gotta try them. This is so stunning! I am impressed. Rings close to realism!

This beautiful pastel pencil (painting) captures a serene moment by the ocean. The child sits at the water's edge, deeply engrossed in examining a large seashell. The gentle waves crashing onto the shore add a sense of tranquility to the scene, perfectly complementing the child's expression of curiosity and wonder.

Your use of soft colors creates a soothing and nostalgic atmosphere, evoking the simple joys of childhood exploration. The harmonious blend of blues and sandy tones enhances the overall peacefulness of the artwork, making it a delightful and heartwarming piece.

Overall, this painting beautifully encapsulates the essence of childhood innocence and the natural curiosity that comes with discovering the world around us.

A wonderful visual presented here of this little girl sitting by the seashore. Composition, shades, tones, colours and textures are so very well done. Love the softness you've created in this scene. Good luck in the contest.!!

Simply endearing! In every grain of sand, a story; in every wave's caress, a memoryâ€"this beach photograph of the child captures the whispers of the ocean's secrets. Well done! Good luck!

Great traditional art using pastel pencil. Great shallow water with footsteps visible. The girls skin tones, hair texture and Denham clothes along with splashing waves are all excellent. Great entry into the contest and thanks for sharing :-)

Hi Janice, I can picture this little girl sitting on the beach and being fascinated by the seashells she finds. So many shapes and colors. I'm still fascinated by them. I bet she's having fun sorting thru them.
Love the way you did the gentle waves in this. I also like the storytelling ability this has. The image is very sweet and definitely brings back pleasant memories of the past. A lovely entry for the summertime contest! Good Luck! :o) Nancy
