Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
The Grey Heron is not found in the USA.

What a great photo for this contest, I've been able to get photos of a great blue catching fish, but none that did so close by. Focus and exposure are wonderful, glad you got this image before he swallowed it. Best wishes to you in the contest!

The skilled Hunter, the heron Is a great entrance into this contest of birds. My entry was also a heron. They are really fun to watch. You've captured a great situation here as he's still got his fish in his mouth. Glad he surprised you that day.

Very nicely done Nieves! Heron never seem to be fishing when I see them. Though I have seen a lot of Heron I have yet to capture one with a fish in its mouth! You did a great job with this one! Thanks, Brian. I have several shots. Might be so hungry, I did not even spook this heron. I'm only about six away. Maybe in 5-minutes it has already 10 fish as its meal.
