This giraffe looks tall and so graceful. I love the early evening light, the golden foreground and its textures, and the mountain at the backdrop. Excellent framing placement with sufficient negative space for this towering giraffe to walk. Glad that you have a wish came true from your bucket list, Charlotte. This is breathtaking.

This shot brought back some great memories! Was in Kenya and Tanzania Summer of 2014. Saw a few giraffes at a distance, but not close enough for a photo. (Not counting the ones in the barn at the game park.). Really like how this captures the extreme difference between the harsh open plains and the rugged mountain in the background. Probably not intentional, but this image also plays tricks with the viewers eyes. Due to the extreme distance from the giraffe to Kilimanjaro in the background. Such an iconic image in so many ways. Makes me want to return, perhaps even stay and live out the rest of my days.

Yes, the haze was a problem - it took me a while to even make out the mountain when we were in the park! But it is over 50 miles away as the crow flies, so I don't suppose it's ever really crystal clear.
