This is a lovely, unusual photograph of this tower in the Arizona Grand Canyon. The tower appears lofty against the blue sky and the clouds in the background; also the green trees in the foreground. I would be interested to know the history of this tower as it seems so out of place in its location.

Very many thanks for your kind and detailed review! It was designed to replicate old Indian towers.

Nice job. Love how the Watchtower is high above the clouds - must be very tall. Love the colors that are captured in the shot. Looking forward to your next post.

I wish I had another 6 left to give to you because I love this. I love old buildings, as well. I like the way you have shot this, placing the focal point in the right most third of the composition. The colors are crisp and bright without being oversaturated. Exposure is very well handled and framing of the subject matter is perfect. I love it.

I wonder what its main function was in regards to being a watchtower[just curious] that aside i wonder if a vertical shot would have shown us more of this tower[just a thought]....Brian

I am grateful for your interesting review! A vertical take would not have shown more of the tower because the bottom two thirds were screened off by trees.

you are welcome,fair enough

An impressive photograph of the Desert Watch Tower in the GCNP! The framing is thoughtfully executed, and the balance of light, shadows, and colours enhances the overall composition.Good effort!
