I like your image of this lioness on the prowl. For me the shadow is too dark and your photo doesn't have the clarity it needs to bring out details of the lioness. (I wouldn't like to be in the back of a truck taking this though.)

She was determined and I was looking over my shoulder and did not want to move as then I could have been dinner.

She was quite determined then fought the male face to face. His face was bleeding when she got done, then turned to allow him to do his job, over in seconds, she had no complaints about that.

Said as was needed, been there before, just not getting clawed or bitten in the face, maybe that would help sometimes though,

She looks like she's definitely on a mission to get this done. A lovely shot of this lioness in the mating season showing her determination. I like the face half in shadow showing her left eye bright and focused. Good luck in the contest. Hope to see more posts from you!

Thank you, please review my previous photos as I only have a few already. Have written many poems in Fan Story and would like your comments on some of them also.

A great entry to this Nature Contest. I like how the light is on his other eye and the shadow on the other. The dominant colors looks like sepia. Great display of lights and shadows on the foreground. Grat angle showing the whole muscular body of this lioness. The vertical orientation and framing placement are just right. Wish you the best in this contest.

Easily the most beautiful thing I have I ever saw, Please don't tell my wife I said that. The intensity of her eyes and knowing the mail was waiting behind us, the the confrontation just before her allowing him to mount her. She had him in her paws and him down on the ground. Nature was telling her what had to be done and she was not happy with him at all. He was a weak necessary individual she had to give into for the time. I understand totally. She reminds me of my grandmother, mother, wife and daughter. Have seen that same look in their eyes.

She past right behind us, as the male was waiting, Have other fairly inappropriate photos also. The guide said they would mate every 2 to 3 hours for 2 to 3 days. Would not eat during mating season. They act was quick and they fought face to face before, he was bleeding as she scratch and bite his face, then he would lay down and rest until she came back. My 15 year old daughter was with us. I felt a little bit uncomfortable but she watched and was laughing.

She was determined as the male waited under a tree. Then they fought face to face for about 20 minutes, she was easily winning and his face was bleeding. The act only took a few seconds then she left to come back later.

She was powerful and determined. The male was behind us and when the faced each other she attacked him aggressively, I believe nature has told us who is the real boss.

This lioness means business. Stay out of her way as she looks for her next prey, and also protect her cubs as well. This is an excellent photograph of this lioness, you can feel the emotion of fear, and amazement of seeing one of these. Good work, thank you for sharing! Good luck in the contest!

She was coming back to mate again, the lion was male was waiting patiently as we all should, and they had their battle of their own. Him on her and biting her neck, her tearing and ripping his front legs open and screaming not in joy but anger. Nature as was meant to be.If you wish I can send the actual mating as I didn't want for any one to think I was taking inappropriate photos. The look in her eyes were not for a kill but to find him again and again. As told by the crew this was to happen for many days. No wonder both were bleeding. Is that a boa on your neck ? As a Veterinarian I saw one with mouth rot and then it bit its owner, had to grab it and then it was strangling me and was wrapped around my neck and chest. The staff rescued me, then my duty to clean her mouth, give fluids intracardiacly and systemic antibiotics. Some of my patients wished me dead.

You're very interesting and unique visual presented here if this lioness.I like your composition. The only thing that distracts from it is the darkness on her face. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, this photo was not one try and reconstruct as she knew what she wanted and he wanted, lets get this done and over. The photo is of her walking to the many rounds of mating to come.
