This is a really nice photograph. The colors in the photo are very nice. You did a great job capturing such a well focused, detailed photo. I really love that I can see every little detail in the feathers. Great job!!! I see that you are a retired nurse, I am hoping to be retired from nursing next year, I cannot wait!

Comment from Charlotte Morse
Hi Michele, it's a common moorhen, but as you saw it in the US it's known there as a common gallinule - some American ornithologist officially changed the name for the south and north American populations in 2011.
Lovely shot with excellent sharp focus and dof. The colours are spot on and I love that trace of red and yellow in the water vaguely indicating its feet (which are huge!)

Thank you so very much for your lovely review. Not sure what happened with the previous photo, I've had a couple recently, that had several reviews then disappeared and I had to repost.

Very nice photograph of this lovely and unique bird! Your colors and harmony are very good. Tack sharp focus and very details. Lighting and exposure values seem point on target. Good technique and technical excellence. Composition could be better but not deducting
for that. Enjoyable view. Thanks for sharing!

How could I improve the composition? I appreciate youe comments and review.

A photo that has the subject dead center of the frame is called static. Read some about 3/4 frame subject placing. You can google it. I could draw it out for you to see but wouldn't know how....lol
As I said just google it. It will help you out with your composition.
I'm just a shooter not a teacher. thank goodness for us all!......:)
Ill try a little. say you have a photo frame. So just split up the frame in quarters. Anywhere in that frame where your lines meet in three quarter marks you can place your subject. So that it is just not center of the frame. Im not sure that sounds right but as I say Im not teacher. With that being said don't forget that in Photography, all rules are made to be broken. Thats what they say. lol
Hope this helps in any kind of way.
Most likely just confused you even more! Urrrr Google and you tube are your best friend when leaning about anything. Mostly music and photography for me anyways.
Best wish and luck always!

PS. Wait a minute!
Your not new at this are you?
I've been here off and on for 25 years
and I remember you. Your name anyways. Sorry my mind is about shot and years of boxing has robbed me of most of my memory. Shot term at the very least. :)

The photo captures timeless elegance, where every shadow and highlight tells a story. So simple, yet so powerfulâ€"this photograph speaks volumes with silence. Well done!

This is a lovely portrait of the Common Galinule which is prevalent here in South Florida. Exposure is well handled.Colors are crisp and bright, the image is sharply focused and it is adequately framed.
