Interests
Animals, Plants, Traveling
My fascination with photography began with my very first trip to another country. The trip was to Mal Pais Costa Rica in 2008. My love of the craft and for traveling has continued to grow exponentially ever since then.

I am married to a very talented, successful and truly inspirational Sculptor who reminds me everyday that some things can't be taught. It took me years to understand what he meant. I took countless photography workshops, college credit courses and apprenticed under some pretty notable professionals; then I picked up my first macro lens in late 2010 and it clicked!
The message was this:
Lighting, composition and mechanics are all things that can be learned; but if you can't see like an artist, it will just never be as powerful, dramatic or meaningful to the viewer.

I am incredibly impatient in most aspects of my life and was always told that with age it would subside; hasn't happened yet. However, one thing has become clear; when it comes to photographing wildlife in their own environment, nothing else matters. Not only am I patient, I will stay perched no matter what the temperature is and no matter how crazy I look to passer by's.
