Full Portfolio

Aunty Jan: I am back now. I have been off pretty much since my sister's death. This year we lost my brother. The last four years have been incredibly hard on an emotional level. We lost four family members in that time.
I hope to be able to once again post things.
I hope everyone is doing well . Good to see the posts again.

Aunty Jan: I am just catching up on many things. I have been to Missouri to help my nephew clear out my sister's room. And we all went to the cemetery with ashes. It has been a difficult few months. Hope everyone is well in your corner of the world.
Glena Jessee-King: So sorry, special artist friend Aunty Jan, for all that you have endured, and for having the Covid. So glad you are doing better, and I pray will be completely well soon. I enjoyed viewing your portfolio. Really fine work there. -

Aunty Jan: Just got back from a trip to Missouri. The corn fields and soybean fields are beautiful. I love the rolling farmland in Missouri. Got caught up with friends and family, which was nice. And got a nice shot of a true Missouri mule, which I will use one of these days.
Glena Jessee-King: Aunty Jan, I just came to your portfolio at the top and your work is beautiful, simply beautiful. That makes me especially honored to receive a "6" from you, artist. -

Aunty Jan: I am torn today between putting up a new photo and finishing a quilt! I love both things. I hope everyone had a good 4th. Ours was quiet, but we did go to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum to see the Prix de West, a juried art show of the top 100 best Western Artists. Each one had 3 to 5 entries. They were spectacular!
Renate-Bertodi: would photographs of your quilts be abstract 'art work' for us to see?? I have photographed some of my fabric work from my design course at Art College and since. -
Aunty Jan: I will give that some thought..perhaps it would qualify. I have so many! Maybe I could check with the panel.

I did check with the panel and it seems I can do that. I will look through my pictures of the things I have done and show one. I have so many! Thanks for asking.

Aunty Jan: Nice to be back after a little hiatus. I have lots of new pictures to show, and will be doing just that.

Aunty Jan has been taking pictures almost her whole life..a long time. She joined this site in September of 2013 and has enjoyed it very much. She likes learning from others and seeing the work of other artists.

She got her first camera, a Brownie, with cereal box tops when she was about 10. She has never been without a camera (or two) since then.

She likes to do oil painting, watercolor, wood burning on duck decoys, and has done a lot of custom sewing and lately, quilting. Her favorite things to make are baby items..especially vintage type bonnets.

She likes to walk and does so most days unless there is snow, ice or rain to hinder her, since she prefers to walk outdoors. She travels some and has enjoyed that very much. She likes to read when time allows and loves flowers of all kinds, and especially violets, pansies and roses.
