I have been taking pictures for over ten years now. I usually have a camera with me everywhere I go. (Even if I have to use the camera on my phone)
I love photography. It allows me to show the world in exactly the way I see it.
I am also a member of fanstory. I joined fanart to post pictures for my fellow writers to use in their stories.

Due to the number of people who have commented on my lightning pictures and wishing they could do the same, I am going to post a short tutorial on how I capture lightning shots.

First off, I rarely try to catch lightning during the day, it is nearly impossible (at least for me).

Next, make sure you have a tripod and a camera with manual settings.

Aim your camera towards an area where you have seen lightning.

Set your shutter speed for anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds.

Set your ISO in between 200 and 400.

Set your focus to manual and aim for infinity.

Start taking pictures. If you have a remote it is better, but if you have to stand there and hit the button every 30 seconds, oh well, that's what you're there for. :)

Experiment. These are general settings, play around with them and see what does best for your camera and the lighting conditions when you are shooting.

Have fun. Looking forward to seeing lots of cool lightning pics.
