I was born in the North of England and after living and working in London I now live in Bangkok, Thailand, which has been my home for the past 10 years.
I have been interested in photography ever since my grandfather bought me a Kodak Instamatic camera as a birthday gift. With its drop in film cartridge the camera was state of the art technology at the time, but it was easy to use and parents were happy to buy film and pay for processing and printing because there was less chance of a child spoiling it.
I travel a lot around South East Asia which presents great photo opportunities. I have been travelling to this region for 25 years and living here for 10 years, but it still holds a fascination. From the jungles, wildlife, misty mountains and the spectacular beaches, to the temples and Buddhist way of life, this region is great for photography. It is also a region in a state of change as the 21st Century starts to change these traditional ways.
I concentrate on landscapes and "Asian" themes but try to ensure that I have at least a compact camera with me at all times for that photo-journalist moment
Thankyou for taking the time to read this and view my photographs.
Philip
