"Special Place" a poem by Elizabeth B. Flood

There is a special place
Where I can go to be alone.
Just a quiet and peaceful place,
without sounds of people or ringing phones.

Hearing sounds of running water
and trees whispering their own words,
the crickets singing a new song
its the most beautiful sound I've heard.

We all must have our own place
to run and forget for a time,
never be ashamed to need a place
because needing to be alone is no crime.
