Uncle Moroz passed away

Many of our men(eastern post-war refugees) led terribly lonely lives, though the married ones tried to introduce them to females. Uncle, Serhij, he was called, liked by everyone, left his widowed mother when he was aged fourteen for the West. Lived with us, then got his own place when he started drinking heavily. A really good man. He had golden blonde hair and sky blue eyes and gentle tone and always showed a smile, always! When he realised, he dried out after a hospital visit. St Barths Human Research was going through our community like a dose of salts at the time, so someone fed him a micky-finn (called a trick or a test)which he thought was a lemonade. Killed him. I felt so sad for him. He was one who would have been better, under any conditions, at home, no matter who ruled, he certainly didn't have a longer, better life here. The tricks continue-- unabated.
