Doris really is a misunderstood cartoonist. im guilty of that myself. when she did the cartoon making fun of joan rivers with the cock eye(lady in the red dress in the background) i did not do that good of a review not looking at the true expression value that doris was doing. i went back reviewing all her work in the portfolio and came to one conclusion..she is a really good expression cartoonist. one of her best is "mmmmm cookies" so true to form and expressive that the lil girl is wanting a cookie..to many times the general public on here of FAR is judging people of the skill of gallery style art and forgetting that art comes in all forms. tell me this..when u 1st view a peice of artwork and u get the the story in the splitt second upon viewing(initial impact) or do u have to have the artist give u some BS story about what it suppose to be..u dont get that from doris's work..u know what she is trying to express the minute u view it..god knows i went thru that many times and here on FAR something petty like why did u do this and that..how many times u look in the newspaper and read the funnies..is that great artwork..no but the cartoonist did it in a manner u immediately got the jest of the story..to me Ziggy is the simpliest cartoon there is and the man make a fortune!..so not only do i owe an apology to this misunderstood cartoonist but am going to give her the respect that she has worked so hard on here on FAR and call upon my fellow members to recognized this expressive cartoonist...doris1022 (stand and clapping)..gee i wonder who is going to be my next victim! evil grin..yall comeon back now...yahear! wink
