Whisky Christmas

I don't drink and never had, but found out why, after my ex dumped us in a new city alone, with no support.Mother not permitted to support us by my stepfather, who had said at my wedding: I give you to him, do not come back to us with your kids. Eldest son came from Liverpool Uni to spend Christmas with us, found we had nothing in but old potatoes, bed, and chips+beans for his younger brothers and me for Christmas, with no support at all-- but he brought a bottle of whisky with him. He soon left, however next day I was so depressed in the evening I sat down and drank the small bottle whilst painting, weeping myself to sleep. Next day I sat with A HEAD- had found out that although I can drink Vodka I cannot stomach whisky- so I sat and sketched what I could see out of the window of our place in The Nook Sheffield- pulled myself together and started again, not knowing what horror was in store for us from Human Research- the silent destroyers of the UK-- It is difficult in a harsh society based on the pub for a woman alone, who does not drink- in the East married couples would ask the loners to dinners etc to get round that problem, probably the reason there are so many help associations in the West, strangers most of whom don't care anyway-
