my ex's father was of Irish descent. I am not a drinker, however, one side of his family, the one which came over to potatoe-pick long ago, had a pub there on the Isle of Axholme. I do not go to pubs, do not like drinking, but I loved -adored going there, listening to Irish songs sung by beautiful Irish singers all night as I sketched some of the songs .. I have a terrible soft spot for the Irish, even though himself went walkabout after 25 yrs of marriage and never returned. Irish pubs are still the only ones I will ever go into.
