Lincolnshire is an agricultural county and is also where I lived most of my life, till we came to Sheffield/an industrial city/ When my mum was left a widow, until Sheffield council got her a lovely flat here because she really couldn't cope properly on her own, I used to visit her, three and four times a week catching the Express Bus, which has now sadly been discontinued. It was a lovely meander through all the villages I knew so well. The bus was an ideal place to sit and sketch what I was passing. My life-long friend from the Refugee Camp in Elsham Lincolnshire, emigrated to Auckland in New Zealand with her husband and child, but also came back to our town, Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire to visit her family and friends regularly, she had such fond memories of the place.
