Colors In Nature - Art Contest Entry
yesterday I was tidying my gardens. This is about the colours of an english garden! I have a small one at the front and a small -for my washing and shed- garden at the back. I had a pear tree and an apple tree at the front, one on each side of the path, which I planted last year. The pear tree had one pear, which someone plucked off this week, the apple tree, which is half its size, has 26 tiny, pink apples on it, which no one touches. I was going to put up paintings of various woods I have seen and been in, mangroves from when I lived in Arkansas and then I thought, why not my little patch for the butterflies. I use my flymo only once in a blue moon, though I do miss the long front garden, with its 'roman revenges' I had when living in London/the Romans brought them over, to build the stockades as they are quick growing, and they still grow like mad all over the place bringing up pavements etc/. My eldest son is trying to move me into a small city flat, which needs little care, but I am very loath to. I like that little patch of green of my butterfly garden around me. A huge one, yes, but not a tidy, little one!
