this was actually Christmas day morning, teaching at USA College of English in Beijing- and I woke up to students already playing in the snow. My window is the one with black painted frame. I had thought the newly built dormitory building was painted white but next to the snow it looked like a very, very, super light grey, which it was not, the misty look is just that, a sort of a mist prevailed constantly, during the snow period. It was a wonderful place, really superb, cricket ground for the summer months and then the huge grounds of an Indian-style run restaurant next door. Families came from central Beijing to relax there and bring their children, with a large pool of Karp which you could fish out yourself and a small village at the back of the college, where they hung an enormous, huge white sheet on a house side in the park at nights and put on films and many villagers came along to watch, sitting on the kids games and all of them tried to sit next to me, as villagers did not own tv's on the whole. I thought that was a superb idea. The students were a smashing lot of young people too and we had many Tibetans, who were actually much loved by the Han and I made a point of supporting, as they were very, very poor, though they did not need me, as they had some very strong minded young people in their group. There was a huge dinner hall, with really excellent food, where one could sit and chat and drink coffee with colleagues and pupils alike. I was very happy there, as in other places in Shandong, China, /which used to be a German Protectorate/ and had intended to stay at least two years, but back in England, my mum was being used for an experiment by one a lab member, Amina, to get her MA to test a 'natural death' against a 'created death', remote. I had to protect my family as much as I could as in England all is unrecorded. She was close to 100 yrs old and still hale and hearty, with few ailments, so she would have got a telegram from the Queen, which was the reason they wiped her out. The lab bossess Anna told Amina to starve the old lady first so she would succumb as my son and I had kept her well fed so they took her out of our hands. The Lab Pakistanis all pressed her heart with a beam on Eid Night as practice. USA concurred that she would have lived another five to ten years. I could not stop them. It was remote, future war weaponry. Amina then had all my stuff from Beijing stolen, beautiful silk table runner etc. I was perturbed at how little faith the Chinese had in us. One Clerk called 'cream' got married in a church, so I gave her my new 18ct gold Cross and Chain I had bought for going out to China with/church is Christian after all/ evidently she threw it in the waste paper basket as her future husband told her it must be tin. I feel that was very bad luck for them!
