few of us own dryers, so the washing-line dries most days. It is only for a couple of months when the washing has to be hung in the house. I was amazed when I lived in Arkansas not to see any washing lines out with their lovely weather, and a huge dryer in my home /which I quickly sold/ I realised that cultural differences are not as obvious as I had imagined. There was also a washing up machine? which I never, ever used but no electric cleaner?
