The Steller?s Jay is a relative of the Blue Jay , they are very friendly and learn quickly to trust , this one is a regular on my back deck, I buy bags of raw almonds and unsalted peanuts for them . Here you can see the bird is calm and feels safe by looking at its crest, when frightened or excited the crest stands up making him or her appear larger.
