Found growing along a rock wall.

What's It?

I discovered this tiny, less than half inch diameter, flower growing along the edge of a stone wall. Something this small, delicate and pretty is just begging to be photographed. Turns out getting a portrait of the mystery blossom wasn't as easy as I thought. I knew I wanted to use a Macro lens to bring out the fine details but when I got close with the macro lens it blocked out to much light. I didn't want to use a ring light flash I wanted the light to remain ambient. Tried adding a 2X Tele-Converter but detail suffered. During a brew break and some ruminating it came to me - Extension Tube. After a few experimental shots I settled on a 13 mm ET. It gave a nice clean 2.5X to the image. The extension tube doesn't add any glass between the Macro lens and the camera sensor so the sweet spot on the lens isn't affected. If someone should see this and know the name of the flower shown, be kind drop me a line ... Bob
