There is an area of South Missouri that has a lot of waterfalls, springs and other similar features. We used to have our family reunions in that area around the Johnson Shut Ins. When I first told someone about it, they thought we were going to a retirement home! Shut Ins occur when parts of the rock cliff walls fall in, thus shutting in part of the creek. It often creates small areas for swimming, and in this case, a small waterfall. It is a beautiful area, only a mile or so from another area called Elephant Rocks. I will post the Rocks one of these days. Enjoy this part of Missouri.
