This is a painting on a 16 by 20 canvas. I was challenged to paint what came to mind when I thought of my name.
My Father told me that he named me Jewell because my eyes shown bright like jewels when I was born.
I will always cherish the love of my Father and his continual encouragement. I miss him so much.
He told me to use every facet of my personality for good and I followed his instructions!

I hope you see the broken
as diamonds in the rough,
for in their eyes a sparkle
when you love them long enough.
I hope you know the glory
in all imperfect gems
is the attribute that's missing until LIGHT
is shone on them.
