Now I know not everyone will like your work, however I came across three separate occasions where I had low stars for a image that has otherwise been a 5 or 6 star image. When looking at that reviewers profile they are either very new or have nothing in their profile at all. Are there sock puppet accounts on FAR? Can't believe people would pay just to give low stars to people but it is a crazy world.

It's been awhile since I had joined FAR but is there a agreement that reviewers sign before allow to rate a work? Low stars I can understand but low stars and nothing in the comment suggesting why a low ranking, or nothing in the comment that reviews the work at all. It baffles me. Do people not understand how reviewing works? Would it be feasible if FAR had a approval test with a image, asking a new reviewer to review it so they understand how reviewing works?

This normally wouldn't bother me but this is the third time I got a low rating without knowing why. It's really weird.

I know exactly what you're talking about Lynn. Recently happened to me - I received my FIRST 3 - Star rating "Ever on FAR", Strangely, it was someone I did not recognize, it was on a post that was no longer promoted (only paying 2 member cents) and was supposedly marked low because water was not in the scene (water was not a requirement for the scene). Even more perplexing is when I reviewed the comments of this person on their profile, "I'm the Only person they Reviewed." I just shook my head and enjoyed a glass of Merlot. LOL. It was weird

If you see things like that report it to FAR. FAR removed the review because it was against FAR policy. I don't mind outside reviews, it's how you get exposure but random negative reviews without constructive criticism serve no purpose but to bring a artist done. Sad people have that kind of time, or bored with their life to do things like that. So sad....

Dear Lynn,
I too have been here a super long time. The FAR commitment and rules states when reviewing for the reviewer to Like, Dislike, and how to improve. This is not the same FAR as it was 10 years ago. ALSO many do not say HOW an image was created. For instance with Ai usage and writing: The key to my paintings is developing ideas and not just considering the medium as the ideas are expressed. THERE IS no HOW CREATED. THEY USE Ai and it is not stated. Yet this gets 5 to 6 stars. HOW IN THE WORLD can one review based on IDEAS. It too is deceptive if Ai is used and not STATED! I Love the people here. I am here for FANSTORY and art. My heart gets a Happy Flutter when someone uses my art on FANStory. I don't strive to be Number 1 for it is nice but it just a title. ALSO I don't have the money to obtain 15-20 reviews each piece I enter. I remember when I placed in the top 5 the first time I was ecstatic. One year I asked Steve iPhone7 why he was not Number 1. He said he had been N0. 1 before and pulled back to let someone else feel the Joy. How AWESOME is that!!!! That has so stuck in my heart. ALL IN ALL I just wish we could and the FAR committee would stick to and honor the rules. I too wish in art and photography reviews were given based on the entry and not personality. Who are or is the FAR committee anyway? Just Curious. ALL IN ALL as the year comes to a close MAY everyone here at FAR have a Beyond BLESSED CHRISTMAS and may your heart be still and filled with unexpected LOVE, JOY, HAPPINESS and the LAUGHTER OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I LOVE you my FAR FAMILY. 🌿

Cindy - I'm also struggling with how to identify when AI was used and subsequently how to offer a review for something computer generated. This menacing technology that threatens to minimize (if not eventually replace) the talent, skill and years of practice / experience of an artist, is perplexing to say the least. I'm just now trying to wrap my head around it, after suspecting my Photography Web page and FB photography page has been "Scraped". See the following excerpt for the definition of Scraped.

I just wanted to say that I have done some AI images here, but I make sure viewers know it. I make sure there is some of me in every peace I do. I recolor, brighten ,cut out areas to add shadows clone ad do repair work on areas that were not done correctly. I even add some of my images to it. I don't want the image to be totally AI ( even though I stated what I wanted to see) Sometimes I have to go thru 20 AI images to get one that comes close to what I want. Just wanted you guys to know, it's not my thoughts alone.... It's my mixed media hand work as well! Anything I do AI will always state there is AI in it.
I think very highly of you guys and I want you to know I work hard on all my images including AI. :o)

1st I agree with AV..most of those low and derogatory reviews are from standard members but did you know those reviews are not counted towards the.rankings? Usually I'll respond with "why don't join the site and show us what's what." Also You can delete those reviews. When doing videos the AI is an awesome tool. Cuts down on production time and whenever I presented an AI I make sure I clearly show the program I am using. It has been a fun many months doing those videos for FAR and FanStory but like all good things must to a end. 2025 my cartoons are coming back "Funnie Flowers " , "Strange Critters", "A Gray Moment", and some new ones. That is why I have been really quiet this month. As always these cartoons will be done with my lil ole sharpie and Bic pens with no computers help. It amazes me that I celebrate my 14th year here on FAR and don't regret one second of it..stay tuned! (Thumbs up)
