I recently received a 3 star and a 4 1/2 star on 2 different submissions, both of which were contest submissions with very specific criteria. In both cases, it was very apparent that the reviewers only looked at the photo. They did not scroll up to the top of the page to see that they were entries in contests that required them to be submitted in black & white. I received reviews that said they should have been submitted in color. It's very upsetting when you're given very low marks for something you did not do wrong.

🌿First I'm sorry. This too happened to me my first 2 yrs here. Yes, it steals your passion. I had a great co member Life is but a Dream. I sure do miss her. She told me to make sure when entering I have marked reviews from Non Artists (Standard) TO Artist's ( the Premier ones) box changed. Sometimes I have forgotten and your experience with the 3 star has happened to me. The rating you received was from a Standard Member. No portfolio, a reviewer only looking for the very few accounts they can review with out joining or participating fully in FAR. Don't let it steal your joy. think when you review you should take into account every thing thats on the photo in info,some people review just to earn points do it quickly then move on to the next photo,would not worry about and yes miss life is but a dream

Y'all some of these wannabe artists that is standard member are just being mean and mad at the world. They sometimes are just some young punk kids bored and surfing the.internet. My recent one star act like he was giving me advise not to use a black line to separate color. Of course as a smart ass I reminded it's a damn cartoon and why dont they put their money where their mouth is and join FAR as well post their work...you know what really sux? Is have 26 reviews and one has to be the one from standard member that doesn't count. Nowadays it's becoming a miracle if you can get past 25 reviews. Notice for many months no one has been awarded the top all time best of the month. Hmmm why is that?..not much folks reviewing...maybe the artists and us cartoonist as well are just not creating of anything of interest for folks want to review. Even though the membership is down but I don't believe there is only less than 25 members here. If I wasn't involved with other projects and relied just here, I would be depressed.

Sadly there have been to many who have left,and think very few photographers have joined,does not happen on other sites,it needs shaking up a bit because fundermentally its still a good site with good people on just needs more of them,i remember when contest were full,not many entries now.

Sometimes, new ones here would give 3-stars for lack of experience. Sometimes, I got one, obviously like a retaliatory low rating, just because I gave one a 4-star for an image with an obvious issue like overbright or have some distracted elements, or one for Nature Contest but the entry is Mixed Media with major changes.

Anyway, I likewise missed Olga. She's pretty genuine.
