What a beautiful little boy, I love the idea that he loves to wear his grandpas hat. He is well created and I like his wavy hair. You have brought him to life with your work to create his eyes! The black background is perfect to emphasize this little boy ,I like his blanket too and his v necked t shirt.
Well presented!

Thank you so much, artist friend, for reviewing and liking as well as the fine encouraging words and the "6" rating. Your reviews mean so much and I appreciate your fine work so much too. This is my first watercolor portrait. Thanks for liking my made-up blanket too.

Glena, this portrait of your grandson is really fabulous! Beautifully painted and it's so lifelike, his character just oozes out of it. He looks such a cutie.
I love the slight tilt of his hat, that little button nose and slightly open mouth.
I think this is the best painting of yours I've seen yet, keep up the excellent work!

Thank you, thank you for your descriptive and encouraging review. All of these accolades touch me. I am so humbled and honored to come from an artist such as you. Bless you. By the way, I made the blanket up quickly as the reference went no farther, and I didn't have the health at the time to complete the rest of the lower part. I hope it is okay to write this because it is true: "I have observed that your grammar is really good too." Also, thanks so much for the "6".

    Glena you?re very welcome!
The blanket fits in very well and is also well painted.
Ah yes my grammar - my father was a real stickler for perfect grammar, both spoken and written and it appears to have rubbed off on all his children. My oldest sister still corrects mine in my emails to her! Lol

Thank you, artist friend, for your reviewing and comments. I know, I had several copies, some that turned that color from what I don't know. I may change to a lighter skin version.

It is a beautifully executed portrait of yiur youngest grandson Glena. Your colour pallet is exceptional. The blanket brings depth and the little hat is super. You got a delightful expression. I think it could do very well.

Thank you, artist friend and friend, Brenda, for your fine review. I hope that it continues to do well. Please remember my husband; I uploaded a photo of him entitled "Handsome Husband". He has been so healthy but has lost about 25 pounds, has nausea, and the endoscopy shows terrible stomach problems. He has never smoked or drank, as a minister.

Thank you so much artist friend James for your fine review and the "6". Mercy, I appreciate that. I don't believe the paper would have held up with so many layers in the background were it not for watercolor canvas. Thanks again much.

Glena, this little guy is a cutey and his personality shines through! Adorable that he loved to wear his Papaw's hat.
Your watercolor is magnificent as a portrait and for its technique. I love the shading you gave in the blanket. I totally enjoyed it. Bravo!

What a lovely entry for the contest! This really displays a lot of talent. Your grandson is truly delightful in his Pawpaw's hat and looks like a little angelic cherub. You've portrayed so much lovely detail here and the colours pop against the dark background. Watercolours are clearly going to be a winner for you Glena. Well worth a 6 star rating.

Wow! This lovely painting of your handsome grandson is definitely one of your better works. For a moment I mistook it for a photo. The innocence on his face is angelic. Good luck in the contest. This richly deserves a six from me. Cheers!
