Interests
I love the outdoors and nature. I love to fish and play guitar. I enjoy being creative.
Bio of the artist, Walter McCombs.

God gave me many talents, one of which is my art work. I've kept this talent bottled up inside me for the almost 20 years now, ever since all of my portfolios came up "missing." I was a very passionate, and active artist up to that point in my life.

As a child I really enjoyed drawing / painting pictures of animals, reptiles, cars, and landscapes mostly. But, as my love for art grew I found myself drawing just about anything that I could see. Art was such a big part of who I was.

Art class was always my favorite elective in school. By my senior year in high school I was in "Advanced Art IV". I also attended private oil painting classes at night, thanks to my loving Aunt Del. I have worked with many mediums including: pencils, ink, colored pencils, water colors, acrylic paints, and oil paints.

I entered a self-portrait that I drew, using "prisma-colors" as my medium, into a Scholastics Competition where I won an art scholarship to Oklahoma University. However, as a young man I decided to put college off for a while as I had found a new love in my life, helping our Paralyzed Veterans of America.

I had a total of six portfolios that were full of my life's work that I always treasured most in life. By the time I was 22 years old they simply disappeared (stolen). It felt like someone just ripped my love for art right out of my chest and I lost my "passion" for drawing / painting.

Through the years my family and friends have always tried to encourage me into getting back into my artwork again. There were times, here and there where I would get a little urge to draw or paint something new, but when I would sit down with a pen, pencil, or paintbrush in my hand my mind would just go "blank". I simply couldn't come up with a subject matter that would interest me enough to actually spend the time needed to draw it in detail. I was a lost soul when it came to art.

I've gone through about 20 years of heartache for the loss of my artwork because those pictures cannot be replaced, and I don't have much to show for myself today. I really never thought that I would find that inspiration again. But, one day my beautiful fiancé bought me some art supplies and asked me to draw her a picture of our dog, "Molly Brown". When I was drawing "Molly Brown" I began to see the talent that I've kept hidden away all these years. And I don't know how it happened, but it was like someone turned on the light switch and all the sudden I am newly inspired, and full of passion, with a real vision in mind.

I am starting a new collection called, "No Rhyme or Reason". The first piece of this collection is finished and it is called "Tearful Trees". The "Tears" represent my sadness. The drawing as a whole represents and supports "Tree Conservation". I spent over 300 hours drawing this piece, using ink as my medium. The second piece is a work in progress and should be released by January 2014. It will take me a good 2 years to complete the "No Rhyme or Reason" series. Each completed piece of this collection will STAND for something, and will help great causes around the globe like "Tree Conservation", "Cancer Research", "Autism", and more.

God gave me this talent and I intend to share it with the world. I hope you will enjoy all of my artwork as I am newly inspired, with a real vision in mind, and on a mission to make a difference in the lives of people that I share this world with.
