Sally 211 has always been a classroom teacher of fifth and sixth graders. Although she knew she always loved the arts, she wasn't really directed until her son was born. Of course, as to most mothers, your own is the most photogenic kid in the world and boy, did she take pictures. She started with a very basic Kodak, then the first Polaroids(yuck) then finally got her first Canon SLR used. And what a wonderful camera it was. It opened the world to her. Still being a full time mom and dad and teaching left little time to really pursue photography. Without the time , she incorporated it into her language arts classes and Photography Clubs while teaching. She concentrated mostly on teaching the children to use the camera in new and creative ways...to find beauty in a blade of grass or a stone.

After moving to Fl five years ago, she worked for a private company as a specialist in educational programming and taught adults. To her surprise, the age doesn't matter when it comes to teaching and again she was able to incorporate the camera in with her work.

Several years ago she bought her first digital, a Canon G5 and learned the camera inside out to max out its abilities. She recently purchased a Nikon D50 SLR/D with a wide angle and a 70 to 300 telephoto that has a macro setting built into it. She is sure this is a novice camera out there for all you people who are really advanced...but it's been a long time dream for her.

Her favorite type of photography is Macro, but loves to photograph anything and everything. She had some of her work in the local civic center and the Visual Arts Center.

She works with Paint Shop Photo Album and mostly Adobe imaging programs and has as much to learn about them as the new camera. In fact the picture she posted of herself is a result of playing around with some areas of Paint Shop.

Most recently she has won a blue ribbon (first place) in the FCCC for three as well as several honors. She also took second place at the Visual arts Center in an exhibition competing against oils, water colors and acrylics. She was named Artist of the Month for December, 2010, by The Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County, received two awards in the Faces and Figures Exhibitions at the Visual Arts Center, and Has exhibited every month of 2010 in public buildings around town. Recently she has sold some of her framed work from these exhibitions and gallery wrapped on canvas from her website:http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sandy-poore.html
